|Hawker Harrier T52|
|Hawker Harrier T52 in Qinetiq default livery|
|Primary Use||Military, trainer|
Aircraft Background Edit
This was the 2 seat version of the first generation Harrier. Military training versions were designated T2, T4 and T8 with slightly different specifications, but all combat ready. Various 2 seat options were investigated as the tandem seating was problematic to the centre of gravity for flight. Two cockpits either side of a single central air intake, and a side by side cockpit were investigated.
This aircraft was used by Qinetiq to develop Vectored-thrust Aircraft Advanced Control (VAAC) auto hover technology that is being utilised in the F-35
