Aircraft Background[]

Hunting Aircraft were commissioned by the Royal Aircraft Establishment to develop the 126 in 1963. The aircraft was designed to demonstrate very slow flight using blown flaps and as such had a stall speed of only 32 miles per hour. At slow speed, only 30% of thrust was directed through the jet exhausts, with 15% directed through control nozzles. The remaining 55% was directed through the full span blown flaps.
